After seeing the show Lee Miller and Man Ray | Partners in Surrealism at the Legion of Honor, I am reminded what a visionary Lee Miller was. The wall text accompanying this photograph explained how the effect of her hand exploding was created by the scratches on the glass door of a perfumerie made by people wearing diamond rings.
